The University of Texas Permian Basin has removed Brian Schroeder’s “interim” tag and named him the official head coach of the women’s and men’s swimming and diving programs. The decision comes five months after Schroeder was named the team’s interim head coach on Aug. 8. As a UTPB alum, Schroeder has strong ties to the program. He swam in a Falcons cap from 2006-2010 and was team captain for his final two seasons. The school’s Vice President for Athletics, Scott Larsen, made the move official on Jan. 13. In his announcement, he said “Brian has demonstrated tremendous passion for both…

Why Marcus Smith is still England’s best fly-half, how he can open up Ireland and the common myth about him that is just plain wrong, writes CHRIS FOY
Marcus Smith has been the starting 10 in every one of England’s last seven Tests and it seems that Steve Borthwick has wisely concluded that now is not the time to change that arrangement.Ireland in Dublin at the start of the Six Nations is not the occasion to rip up the creative hub of the national team and thrust a relatively inexperienced playmaker in for his first start at fly-half. That red-letter day will come soon enough for the impressive Fin Smith, but not on Saturday; not with all the other disruption and not with so much at stake. With Alex…
The Briton added: “I want to thank everyone that stayed out here and watched us play, you guys are a little bit crazy but I love you for it.”Patten sealed victory with an ace, moments after saving the second of two break points against his serve by the same means, and instantly dropped to the floor in celebration. It ended an exhausting match, lasting three hours and four minutes, which was concluded in front of a small contingent of loyal supporters at 1:42am.After the match, Vavassori thanked the tournament organisers but questioned the decision to hold the men’s doubles final so…
By: Sean Crose “I understand it. It’s a lame ass game, dog” Shakur Stevenson recently said to IFL TV. “Boxing has turned very lame. There’s a lot of politics and… sometimes it’s who you know.” Stevenson said this, not in defense of himself, but in defense of the popular, undefeated and explosive Gervonta “Tank” Davis, a man who claims he’s going to retire from the sport at the end of 2025. The slick and also undefeated Stevenson, however, hopes to score a much anticipated bout for lightweight supremacy with Baltimore’s Davis before Davis calls it quits. It would make an…
