By: Sean Crose IBF welterweight champion, Jaron “Boots” Ennis put his title on the line Saturday night in his hometown of Philadelphia against David Avanesyan. Ennis was widely favored to win the main event of a DAZN broadcast card, but boxing is the sport where anything seems to be possible. Ennis, who appeared to tower over his opponent, immediately took to Avanesyan with his jab. Avanesyan went down from a low blow later in the opening round. After resuming the action, Avanesyan was drilled by a series of Ennis’ shots. The second round was a rather blistering affair. Ennis zipped…

Din Thomas Wants To See UFC Standout Jean Silva Fight Ilia Topuria After Bagging Two KOs In Two Weeks
Din Thomas is high on Jean Silva. Maybe a little too high. Two weeks removed from his second-round knockout of Charles Jourdain at UFC 303, ‘Lord Assassin’ returned to the Octagon in The Mile High City for a short-notice scrap with heavy-handed Denver native Drew Dober. Silva’s impressive speed was on full display from the get-go, peppering Dober with his left hand before busting open his opponent with a couple of perfectly timed spinning back elbows. Despite being in the driver’s seat from the opening bell, Dober never once took his foot off the gas. Unfortunately, Dober’s cut continued to…
Paris Open Water Prep Differs for Mariah Denigan, Katie Grimes Mariah Denigan likes to joke with her teammates that the 1500 freestyle in the pool feels like a sprint. She omitted, perhaps strategically, her teammates’ response to that. But when it came to U.S. Olympic Trials in Indianapolis last month, Denigan’s regard for the speed of the longest pool event colored her preparation, which for the open water swimmer will differ sharply from her pool brethren as the Paris Olympics arrive. “I definitely don’t go as low as some sprinters obviously or even some pool distance swimmers…
Loudenvielle – Plateau de Beille 197.7 km Bastille Day makes the second part of the weekend double header and it’s a return to the modern Pyrénée classic Plateau de Beille. 15 evil kilometers to test the yellow jersey contenders. Prospects Prep Baseball Staff – July 13, 2024 The clock continues to tick for the Guardians and the first pick in the 2024 MLB Draft that is scheduled for 7pm ET this Sunday. The narrative of simply picking the best player doesn’t much apply in this case since we really don’t know who the best player is — Paul Skenes, Adley Rutschman or Gerrit Cole are not in this draft. And with a likely goal of saving bonus money on the first pick in order to maximize their pool and future picks, Cleveland seems to be leaning towards J.J. Wetherholt,…
