Jimmy Butler plans to report for basketball duty when his suspension by the Miami Heat is lifted, a source close to the players tells Sam Amick of The Athletic. How Butler and the Heat move forward with him possibly on the court again remains to be seen. Butler will rejoin the Heat on Thursday ahead of a home game on Friday against the Denver Nuggets. Butler’s seven-game suspension cost him $2.35 million, but it is in the appeal process. Butler continues to seek a trade from the Heat and has no interest in remaining with the franchise long-term.

Cal has announced another mid-season addition, this time on the women’s side. We reported yesterday on Lars Antoniak joining the men’s team, and now Cal has announced the addition of Belgian National Team member Camille Henveaux to the women’s team. Henveaux is notably the younger sister of Lucas Henveaux, who helped Cal to a national championship in the 2022-23 season, finishing 9th in both the 500 free and 1650 free.
