In the men’s 100 fly, Kristof Milak will aim to improve upon the silver medal he won four years ago against a field including Noe Ponti, Josh Liendo, Maxime Grousset and Nyls Korstanje. Defending champion and world-record holder Caeleb Dressel did not qualify for the final.
Three individual gold medalists from Paris will swim in the 200 IM final, with Kaylee McKeown in lane one, Kate Douglass in three and Summer McIntosh in five. Alex Walsh, who has won gold or silver in the event in every major international final she has competed in, wil be in lane four.
Ariarne Titmus and Katie Ledecky will swim in lanes three and four, respectively, in the 800 free final. Ledecky will be aiming for her historic fourth consecutive gold medal in the event, an accomplishment that only Michael Phelps has ever reached among swimmers.
In the 50 free semis, Sarah Sjostrom owns lane four in the second semifinal, with Gretchen Walsh next to her, while Kasia Wasick leads the way in heat one. The mixed 400 medley relay will conclude the session, with China, the United States and Australia favored and swimming in the middle lanes.
