Louis Rees-Zammit has turned up the training ahead of his return to America.

The former Wales rugby winger has re-signed with NFL franchise Jacksonville Jaguars ahead of the 2025/2026 season. The 24-year-old did not feature last season, but is hoping to make his mark in American football in the upcoming campaign.

Rees-Zammit has been back in the UK since last season ended, with Jaguars appointing a new head coach in the mean time. After enjoying the off-season, the Welshman has now been back on the training paddock.

The wide receiver has been training with close friend Isaac Marsh, who is the brains behind rugby coaching brand ‘Kaizen Rugby’. The pair were teammates together at Gloucester and remain very good friends to this day.

Marsh is a student and player at Cardiff Metropolitan University and recently started a new series entitled ‘LRZ Offseason Training’, where he shows viewers how his pal is preparing for another campaign in the NFL.

Rees-Zammit can be seen going through various footwork and catching drills with Marsh, and makes a very impressive one-handed catch in the opening clip. Footage also showed Rees-Zammit hitting an upper body session in a Cardiff gym. Check out Kaizen Rugby by clicking here. You can check out the footage below.

Rees-Zammit has been signed to the Jaguars’ active roster ahead of the new season, and will be hoping he can survive the cut in August. At the tail end of that month, NFL teams are required to trim their squad size down from a collective of 90 players to 53 on the active roster and 17 on the practice squad.

Last season Rees-Zammit was on the practice squad for Jaguars and did not get elevated to play a single time. He was the designated International Player Pathway athlete, and this is the last season he will be allowed to be designated as the IPP player. Next season he will need to be signed as a regular practice squad player or as part of the 53.

Fellow ex-rugby star Jordan Petaia, formerly of the Wallabies, has also gone through the IPP pathway and was signed by the LA Chargers two weeks ago. Sign up to Inside Welsh rugby on Substack to get exclusive news stories and insight from behind the scenes in Welsh rugby.
