Warlley Alves is no longer on the UFC roster, MMA Fighting has learned.
The 34-year-old welterweight veteran leaves the promotion with a record of 8-8.
Alves joined the UFC after representing Chael Sonnen’s team on the third season of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil in 2014, scoring a trio of wins on the reality show before submitting Marcio Alexandre Jr. to claim the middleweight trophy in May 2014.
The Brazilian had a meteoric start in the promotion, dropping back down to his original weight class and going 3-0 with a pair of guillotine choke victories over Nordine Taleb and future interim champion Colby Covington. He lost back-to-back decisions after that with defeats to Bryan Barberena and another future UFC champion in Kamaru Usman.
Alves has had ups and downs since then, winning just four of his next 10. He was let go by the promotion after suffering four straight defeats between 2021 and 2024, including stoppages to Jeremiah Wells and Ikram Aliskerov, plus decision defeats to Nicolas Dalby and Abus Magomedov.
