Alex Pereira reacts to Jiri Prochazka knocking out Jamahal Hill at UFC 311, says he’s open to trilogy

UFC champ Alex Pereira says he would give Jiri Prochazka a third crack at him following the former champion’s sensational knockout of Jamahal Hill.

Prochazka stopped a game Hill in the third round of their featured bout at UFC 311 this past Saturday in Inglewood, Calif. In the build, Prochazka told MMA Fighting he’s hoping to get another shot at Pereira after suffering a pair of knockout losses. While many believe that idea may be farfetched, Pereira — who is slated to defend his light heavyweight title against Magomed Ankalaev in the main event of UFC 303 — says Prochazka deserves that third opportunity.

“I’m ready to fight anybody,” Pereira told ESPN through a translator. “It doesn’t matter who it is.

“Right now, it’s Ankalaev’s time. I’m going to fight Ankalaev. But after this fight, if everything’s good, we’re going to give Jiri an opportunity as well. He said he wants it, he’s going to have it.”

Pereira knocked out Prochazka in their first meeting at UFC 295 for the vacant title in November 2023. They would meet again in a short notice rematch to save UFC 303 this past June after Conor McGregor was forced to withdraw from his scheduled main event matchup with Michael Chandler due to injury.

“Poatan” looked sensational in the rematch, capping off International Fight Week with a devastating head kick knockout to retain his title.
