LeBron James will sit his first game of the year against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday due to left foot soreness.
The 39-year-old began experiencing soreness on Wednesday against the Heat.
“We’re going to have to play in transition. And I think overall for our team, just getting back to really emphasize trying to get a paint touch on every possession. We were doing that earlier in the year and have gotten away from that and need to get back to that,” said JJ Redick on the team’s game plan without James.
Austin Reaves will also miss his fifth straight game due to a left pelvic contusion.
