Distance Freestyler/IMer Brooke Bennett Chooses Georgia For 2026
NEW COMMIT: U.S. Open qualifier Brooke Bennett of Livermore, California, has pledged her verbal commitment to the University of Georgia beginning in Fall 2026.
She will join Virginia Hinds as a member of the Bulldogs’ Class of 2030.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic career at the University of Georgia!! I would like to thank my family, teammates and friends for their support. I would like to thank Coach Steve Morsilli and PLS for shaping me into the swimmer I am today. Lastly, I would like to thank Coach Stef, Fernando and Jerry for this amazing opportunity. GO DAWGS!!”
Bennett does her club swimming with Pleasanton Seahawks and capped off her summer by placing 18th in the 400m IM and 19th in both the 200m IM and 800m free at Speedo Summer Championships. Last December, she finished 15th in the mile at Juniors West. She then went on to earn seven top-5 finishes at PC Westerns Championships, highlighted by a win in the 500 free and 1000 free.
Her best times include:
- 200 IM – 2:01.48
- 400 IM – 4:16.65
- 200 free – 1:50.36
- 500 free – 4:49.66
- 200 breast – 2:16.81
Currently a junior at Granada High School, Bennett took seventh in the 200 IM and 13th in the 500 free at the 2024 CIF State Championships. She took third and fourth, respectively, in those events at the CIF North Coast Championships a week prior.
She finished 10th in the 200 IM at the CIF Stat Championships as a freshman in 2023.
