2025 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championship
On the final night of the 2025 NCAA Division II Championships, Drury’s Jonette Laegreid reset her own NCAA record in the 200 breaststroke. She touched the wall in a time of 2:08.59, which undercut her own previous standard of 2:08.86.
She approached tonight’s race much more aggressively, taking out the first half of the race more than a full second under NCAA record pace. She hit the 100-yard wall in 1:01.68, way under her previous pace of 1:02.71. She paid the price a bit over the final 100, but still held on to break her own record by 0.27.

The freshman standout won the 100 breast (1:00.06), placed third in the 200 IM (1:59.98), and finished 11th in the 400 IM (4:20.08) earlier in the meet. Her time in the 200 IM was a personal best and her first time breaking the elusive 2-minute barrier. However, she has posted faster times this season in both the 100 breast and 400 IM, with marks of 59.69 and 4:18.63, respectively.
Laegreid is a native of Norway, and is competing in the NCAA for the first time this season. Prior to Drury, Laegreid represented Metis Vidergaende in her home country. In 2024, she placed 2nd at Norwegian Nationals in the 200m breast, in addition to a pair of 3rd place finishes in the 50m and 100m distances.
