Diving World Cup Returns to Guadalajara in Three-Event Circuit
World Aquatics on Friday unveiled the full lineup for the 2025 Diving World Cup, which returns to Guadalajara, Mexico, for the first time in a decade.
The circuit will make three stops this spring, with an event April 3-6 in Guadalajara, then April 10-13 in Windsor, Canada. The series wraps up in Beijing for the Super Final on May 2-4.
The World Cup will take place in Guadalajara for the first time since 2013. It’ll be hosted by the Mexican program’s national training hub, Centre Acuatico Code Metropolitano in Zapopan, Jalisco. That facility hosted the last Diving World Cup stop in the city as well as the 2011 Pan American Games competition. The country has hosted 28 previous World Aquatics events, including 14 Diving World Cup stops.
The Mexican program is coming off a silver medal and a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, tied for third on the medal table.
“As Mexico’s Sports Minister, I would like to thank World Aquatics for trusting us to host this prestigious event, which marks a new era where athletes are our top priority,” Mexican sports minister Rommel Pacheco said in a press release. “One of our main objectives is to resolve past challenges and move forward. Hosting the World Aquatics Diving World Cup 2025 is a key step in revitalising aquatic sports in Mexico, particularly as we prepare for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.”
“Guadalajara’s selection as a host city for the World Aquatics Diving World Cup 2025 is a tremendous honour for Mexico,” Mexican Olympic Committee president (and former World Championship diver) Maria Jose Alcala said. “As a former diver, I know how significant this competition is for athletes and fans alike. Guadalajara’s passion for sports and our deep diving tradition ensure that we will deliver an unforgettable event that celebrates the spirit of competition, showcases our amazing aquatics centre, and offers all who come the best of Guadalajara hospitality.”
