Jimmy Butler plans to report for basketball duty when his suspension by the Miami Heat is lifted, a source close to the players tells Sam Amick of The Athletic. How Butler and the Heat move forward with him possibly on the court again remains to be seen. Butler will rejoin the Heat on Thursday ahead of a home game on Friday against the Denver Nuggets.
Butler’s seven-game suspension cost him $2.35 million, but it is in the appeal process.
Butler continues to seek a trade from the Heat and has no interest in remaining with the franchise long-term.
