Wales and Gloucester lock Freddie Thomas has signed a new deal to stay with Premiership club.
The 23-year-old came through the Cherry and Whites’ academy and has played 50 games since his debut in 2020, with nine appearances so far this campaign.
Thomas made his Wales debut in November against South Africa during the Autumn series.
Gloucester said in a statement that Thomas signed his new deal prior to his Wales debut, and therefore continues to be eligible for international selection.
His progress and performances have been hailed as a “real success story” for Gloucester this season, and director of rugby George Skivington said he only had “further developing” to do.
“We’re really happy to secure Freddie’s services moving forward. Part of our ethos here is to develop homegrown lads into regular first-team players and internationals, Freddie is a great example of that,” Skivington added.
“He’s already an established face in the squad at a young age, and he’s only got further developing to do, so that’s exciting.”
