TROY, Ala. — Sitting on the field behind home plate, protected by a screen, during a Troy fall intrasquad, it’s hard not to notice how enticing that 30-foot-tall right-field Monster appears, a mere 310 feet from home plate. The Monster, which received a new 21-foot-by-71-foot video board prior to last season, can make opposing pitchers feel claustrophobic, particularly when facing one of Troy’s parade of lefthanded sluggers.
