Following a 2023 season that saw Iowa finish 44-16 overall with a 2-2 showing and one of the nation’s most dynamic pitching staffs, the Hawkeyes entered the 2024 season as D1 Baseball’s 20th-ranked team. They finished 2024 with a 31-23 overall mark while going 14-10 in the Big Ten, so it’s not as though they played horribly, but they did fall short of those lofty preseason expectations.
